An elderly male (A–G) with high-level SUVmax (3.20) of mediastinal lymph node, high-level primary-tumor SUVpeak (9.48), high serum CEA (5.25 ng/ml) and low serum SCC (0.70 ng/ml). The primary tumor, which was confirmed as moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma of the lung, is shown in 18F-FDG PET/CT maximum intensity projection (MIP) (A), PET (B), CT (C) and PET/CT (D) images (arrows). The mediastinal lymph node in area 5, which was the highest SUVmax (3.20) node in the mediastinum and proved to be metastatic by postoperative pathological analysis, was displayed in 18F-FDG MIP (A), PET (E), CT (F) and PET/CT (G) images (triangle)
