A sample maximum difference distribution is shown in panel (b). The desired 5% percentile is marked in red. It can be used to identify a threshold t which is then used for thresholding the normalized difference map. Panel c shows the label exchange of paired images which are acquired using the same subjects. Only images of the same subject are exchanged between groups. Light grey colour indicates corresponding images. The box highlights the true assignment of images to test groups
