Comparison of the diameter and volume-based methods. (a) Scatter plot of the slopes from the two methods of size assessment of the sinuses. The diameter-based method (ΔDRM) is on the y-axis and the method based on volume measurements on the x-axis. The 45 guide line shows the fitted line if the methods had resulted in exactly equal slopes. Two outliers are marked by a red star. They are removed in (b), which is a Bland-Altman plot [23]. The difference between the slopes from the two methods is on the y-axis and the mean is on the x-axis. The central horizontal solid line represents the mean difference, and the upper and lower dashed lines equal the two standard deviations limits. The histogram in (c) shows the distribution of the ΔDRM and the median division of the data (the vertical solid line is the median ΔDRM)
