The methodology behind correlated diffusion imaging. The methodology behind correlated diffusion imaging (CDI) can be summarized as follows. First, multiple signal acquisitions are conducted using sequences with different gradient pulse strengths and timings (q 1, q 2, …, q N ). Second, the acquired signals (S 1, S 2, …, S N ) are then mixed together to obtain the local correlation of signal attenuation across the acquired signals, which produces a final signal (C) that characterizes the tissue being imaged.
