The B-mode intensity plotted along the lateral direction at a user- selected depth is shown in (c), with the numbers of the x-axis referring to the distance [m] from the lateral midpoint of the image. The strain magnitudes are plotted in similar way and displayed in (d), with the Y-axis showing strain magnitude values from 0–8 ‰. The depth of the plotted magnitudes is for display purposes indicated with a bright arrow in (a) and (b). The values picked for estimation of contrast between tumour tissue and assumed normal tissue are indicated by black arrowheads in (c) and (d).
